JAMAICA • INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS • ROBOTICS • AUTOMATION
I design, build & troubleshoot real systems.
I'm Rayon-Jai Pusey — an Industrial Systems student, robotics designer and technical problem-solver working across mechanical design, automation, fabrication, networking and computing.
I like taking an idea from “this needs to work” to something you can actually build, test and improve.
My path runs from Autonomous Mobile Robotics at HEART College of Innovation & Technology to Industrial Systems at Caribbean Maritime University. Along the way I've designed robot mechanisms, restored UAVs, deployed commercial networks, repaired computers and diagnosed industrial equipment.
My strongest work lives where mechanical design, practical fabrication and system integration meet.
From HCIT to representing Jamaica in Autonomous Mobile Robotics on the world stage.
01
National Gold
First place at National Skills with HCIT teammate Ryan Gibson.
02
Six Months
Intensive preparation and multi-week training camps at HCEMET.
03
International Trials
Third place in June trials involving teams including Singapore and Brazil.
04
Shanghai
Represented Jamaica alongside Antonio Rolong of UTech Jamaica.

MY ROLE
OMS & mechanical design
I focused on the robot's physical functionality while Antonio concentrated primarily on software. I designed the Object Manipulation System, claw/gripper, wire-management system and onboard baskets.

UAV • GPS • RESTORATION
HCIT UAV Restoration
After Hurricane Melissa left multiple drones dismantled or damaged, Ryan Gibson and I cleaned, assessed and rebuilt the available systems. We returned two UAVs to functional condition, with my aircraft reaching GPS goal/waypoint navigation before the project period ended.

NETWORKING • CCTV • FIELD WORK
Commercial Network & CCTV Deployment
My first major CAT6 deployment grew into a complete commercial infrastructure project: cable routing and termination, 13 indoor/outdoor cameras, NVR configuration, network switching and wireless access points.

INDUSTRIAL TROUBLESHOOTING
Zinc-Cutting Machine Diagnostics
Spent three days tracing a new zinc-cutting machine's measurement fault. I isolated the problem to a failed encoder wheel and completed the component swap—my first hands-on exposure to relay logic in an industrial machine.
